Setting your TypeTastic account up with ClassLink SSO
TypeTastic will automatically create tenant admin, school admin, teacher and student accounts at successful login via ClassLink after completing these steps:
- Connect TypeTastic to your district with the Classlink TenantID
Log into TypeTastic as account admin and open Login Settings. Switch on Classlink SSO and enter TenantID in the respective field. - Add schools to TypeTastic
Account administrator needs to add all schools in the district that will use the resource. This is required so that teachers can pick their school at first login because Classlink basic scope data does not include schools by name. - Go to Classlink Management Console, add TypeTastic from library apps and assign it to the groups/users of your choice.
- Instruct Teachers to sign in and create classes in TypeTastic
They do not need to add students in the classes as student accounts will get created on the fly at successful login. Teachers need to create a class code for each class that they add. - Students can join classes by logging in with their Classlink credentials and entering the class code shared by teacher. If student does not have a class code, account will not get created and they will not be able to log in.
IMPORTANT!
TypeTastic does not currently feature OneRoster syncing or automated CSV file uploads via SFTP. Instead, after initial setup, user accounts are created on the fly at successful login.
Alternatively, user accounts can be created in advance in bulk using CSV file uploads in TypeTastic native format OR one by one using the "Add student" form. When user accounts are created in advance, usernames in TypeTastic must match their ClassLink username (usually UPN) or email for the students and teachers to be able to log in.
Note: User roles can be changed afterwards in TypeTastic. For example, you can upgrade a teacher to school administrator, if needed.
