Introduction to TypeTastic
When you first start using TypeTastic in your school/district, there are three important questions to consider:
- Which login method do you want to use?
- How do you want to create the users?
- What kind of access do your teachers need?
Login Method
The account administrator can enable different login options to allow the use of native credentials, Google single sign-on, or Office 365 single sign-on.
All above mentioned login options can be active at the same time (“hybrid” login system) so that your schools can use the option that works best for them.
NOTE!
If Clever SecureSync is used to roster and maintain user data, users will always login with Clever.
To enable login options:
- Go to your TypeTastic homepage
- Scroll down, below the admin and teacher list
- Click Login Settings card
- Select your preferred login method
- Click Save
WARNING!
Depending on the login option you have chosen, make sure you're using an email address matching your preferred login method before switching off native login (=Login with username and password.) You will be automatically logged out if your email doesn't match the login option.
Creating users
There are different ways to add users to TypeTastic. Depending on the size of the account, the account administrator can choose one of the following options:
School accounts
The account administrators can let teachers add classes and students manually. Alternatively, administrators and teachers can also use the simplified CSV upload to import classes and students.
District accounts
To roster your account using CSV upload, go to Import Tools at the bottom of the account homepage and select Upload users (CSV). With this tool, you can upload multiple schools, teachers, classes, and students with 4 CSV files. The files need to be uploaded in order, starting with schools.csv, then teachers.csv, then classes.csv, and finally students.csv. Find the complete instructions in this section.
Integrations
TypeTastic can be automatically synced with your internal Student Information System (SIS) using Clever. This integration requires school or account admin to share data with TypeTastic. Once the initial sync has been completed, the data will be synced on a regular basis. Read this section to find out more about Clever integration.
